About the SRS saloprailsoc.org.uk The Shropshire Railway Society was formed in 1969 to cater for all railway enthusiasts living in Shropshire or interested in its railways. The society holds regular meetings in Shrewsbury, covering a wide variety of railway subjects, presented by local and nationally acclaimed speakers. The society organises a number of visits and excursions each year. Recent forays have covered such destinations as the East Lancs. Railway, the Great Central Railway, various national network locations, and the railways of the Irish republic. Publications include a monthly magazine, books on local railways and CD-ROMs of the county's railways. Website by Geoff Cryer Visit Geoff's Pages

Covid-19 Update 23 February 2021 Meetings and Outings: The recent government announcement and the vaccination roll-out now raise the prospect of a resumption of SRS activities. Some outings might be promoted for the summer whilst an autumn meetings programme may follow. The government's dates are subject to caution, so until these are achieved we will not make firm bookings. We will keep members informed through this website, future issues of the magazine and (if we have their email addresses) by email.
