It’s the sixth year for the steam-hauled tour of GB - and once again, there’s a local leg. Day three would see the train hauled
from Cardiff to Preston, via
the Central Wales line, by the
two Black 5s we saw a few
days back - we’d better go and
see them again...
Nine days ago, the pair - 45407
and 44871 - had hauled a train
southbound over the same route
from Shrewsbury. They’d been a
minute early through All
Stretton. Today, once again,
they were, if anything, running
slightly early - leaving Craven
Arms on time, they’d passed
through Marshbrook (I learned on
returning home - thanks again to
Realtime Trains) a minute early.
They were certainly going well
where we saw them, about half-
way between the two - a
wonderful sight and sound.
