It was supposed to be Tangmere - but earlier
in the week, Tangmere was advised to be
“unavailable”. The weather was advised to
be grim too
We might not have bothered going out to see
the Black 5s, 44871 and 45407 (they’re due
through Shropshire again next Saturday, and

5029 Nunney Castle should be running too, on
the specials for the Ludlow markets), but the
forecast improved as the day approached. The
morning fog gradually lifted, clearing to bright
sunshine at Stokesay. They were on time and
going well - a great sound and a fine trail of
steam in the Onny valley. Fingers crossed for
next week...
