It was anything but a cold start for Tornado, of course. It was hauling “The Red Rose” from London Victoria to Shrewsbury, so it was well and truly warmed up when it arrived at Cosford - much  warmer than we were, standing in the sleety drizzle. We didn’t have to stand for long - it was three minutes early when it pulled away towards its next stop at Telford Central.
