We’re heading for Arley, for a walk around the arboretum
(nothing to do with railways, though there are
some great views of the line and the passing
trains). But on the way,
we’re calling in on the
Severn Valley Railway, for
a last look at Royal Scot
and Tornado.
Everything was fine at the Bridgnorth end (it could have been a
little sunnier), and we arrived at Arley in time to
see 46100 at the station. Half an hour later,
Tornado would be coming through - which it did,
but no-one mentioned that
it had been turned for this
last trip, and would be
running tender first. Can’t
win them all.
