47383 at Bridgnorth   The crew dispose of 47383's fire after a full day's work on the Severn Valley, 28 Sept 1985
"What's he been drinking" a photographer friend asked, on seeing this slide.....
150 106 at Hereford   150 106 stands at the deserted platform at Hereford, with a train for Birmingham New Street, 26 Oct 1996
Out for the day with the Duchess (46229, that is, which everyone else was busy snapping). Took a deep breath and hand-held this one.
13809 in York station   Three shots of former S&DJR 2-8-0 No. 13809, then recently restored from Barry condition, at York station.
It ran a trip around the "York Circle" on a dismal day weatherwise - these were the only reasonable shots I got that day - 24 Oct 1981

The first shot - love it or hate it - won me a cup at the local camera club. About 1 second, the train running through the station.

Second - at the end of the platform, using other people's flash!

Third - the special has gone, diesel hauled, 13809 awaits disposal.

Peak at York   A "Peak" stands at platform 14, York, with a westbound Newcastle - Liverpool train, 24 Oct 1981
Same evening as the previous three shots....
Bridgnorth shed scene   No 777 Sir Lamiel, No 600 Gordon and Collett 0-6-0 3205 rest at Bridgnorth shed, April 1983
The rain earlier in the day improved the foreground somewhat. 777 was just visiting, and 3205 has long since left the railway.
3442, 4472 at Bridgnorth   The LNER takeover bid - 3442 "The Great Marquess" and 4472 "Flying Scotsman" enjoy each other's company at Bridgnorth, Sept 1990
.....and making a nice change from all those GWR locos....

We're on a Shropshire Railway Society "Escape the cold turkey" day out!
